EV Charging Station Unveiled in Portland

On April 29, 2009, Portland, Oregon Mayor Sam Adams held a press conference to unveil a new electric vehicle charging station. Mayor Adams addresses San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom in response to the electric vehicle grid race between the two cities. Jeff Kim, COO of Shorepower, spoke at the event. Video.

Good Green Cars – April 2009

Good Green Cars, of RiverWired Network, wrote about the partnership between Oregon and Mitsubishi. Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski is shown with a Shorepower charging station. RiverWired is an eco-media web site and blog network devoted to helping people live greener.

The utility is working with cities and companies to install the charging stations. At first, the partners pay for the electricity, which comes from renewable sources.
