Bridge, Tunnel Tolls to Rise in New York By $10 For Truckers
The rising cost of tolls are expensive no doubt, but if you are idling your main engine, you are paying $40+ per night – over $4,000 per year. Now that’s expensive!
“Trucks will have to pay $10 more starting Dec. 1 to travel into Manhattan across the bridges or through the tunnels operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
“Under a schedule adopted by the Port Authority in 2011, toll rates for cars and trucks increase every Dec. 1 through 2015.
“The latest increase means a 5-axle truck with E-ZPass that pays $55 off-peak and $60 during peak traffic times will pay $65 and $70, respectively.”
