Plug In Hybrid Electric Vehicles
Shorepower has been recently awarded a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) proof of concept project from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).  In conjunction with our project partner, Hybrids Plus, we will be converting one Escape HEV into a PHEV.  In Phase 1, we will develop and produce a conversion package (kit) that will be installed into a hybrid Ford Escape SUV.  Shurepower will deliver the vehicle to NYSERDA and monitor/evaluate its performance.  The kit developed in Phase 1 could then be used to retrofit many Escapes in NY State’s fleet to PHEVs.  Shurepower will be the installer for phase 2.
